Are tattoos safe?
Yes they are if the procedure is performed by a professional tattooist under hygienic conditions and the tattoo is treated properly post procedure. SRT Studios staff are always happy to listen to any enquiries related to the entire process.
Do tattoos hurt?
Yes, to a certain extent they do. The pain is tolerable to most people, and for some it can become addictive. Everyone has different levels of pain tolerance so it is impossible to gauge from one person to the next, however, if it was that bad, it wouldn’t be this popular and people would be unlikely to go back for more.Do you recommend the use of anesthetic products?
Generally it is better not to use these products due to their limited effect (most products only last 45 mins-1 hour before they wear off and can sensitize the skin so that it becomes more irritated once it does) and the possibility of having an allergic reaction to the product (see the notes on this subject in our Tattoo Procedure Guide attached below). We recommend that you consult your physician and request a spot test prior to use. It is also very important to inform SRT Staff so that we can make sure that the product is applied properly.Is there a Health Department guideline that tattoo studios have to adhere to?
All studios must follow the SA Department of Health’s: Guidelines on the Safe and Hygienic Practice of Skin Penetration; first issued: November 1995, revised edition: 2004. Yes definitely, we specialize in custom tattoo design and have specifically designed our state of the art IT network around this function. There is a design fee of $100 to cover the artist’s time, which can be quite considerable, depending on the requirements of the client.How much do tattoos cost?
Our minimum price is $100, with pricing increased depending on the time involved.
Can I commission the artists at SRT Studios to do original artwork?
Yes certainly. All SRT Studios artists are very competent and versatile artists who are capable of working in several mediums and styles.Is it necessary to make a booking?
Yes, bookings are essential. This way our staff can make sure that everything is finalized so there is no guess work when you get in the chair and it cuts down on waiting time.
Is a deposit required for bookings?
Yes, a deposit of $100 is required prior to booking. This is refundable at the time of the tattoo or if you give a minimum of 48 hours notice of your intent to cancel or reschedule.
